Ingham Nissan West Auckland partners with Netball Waitākere, Driving community connection

Ingham Nissan West Auckland has joined forces with Netball Waitākere in a new partnership, providing a Nissan Navara to assist with day-to-day operations and extend local outreach initiatives.

Located in Henderson, the complex is one of the country’s most active and representative netball facilities. It hosts more than 800 teams each season and welcomes over 25,000 visitors during peak competition times.

With a strong focus on diversity, Netball Waitākere’s membership is nearly 50 per cent Māori and Pasifika, and the centre tops national figures for men’s netball involvement. It also runs an All Access Disability Programme, breaking down barriers so players of all abilities can participate and thrive.

“This relationship is about more than just handing over a vehicle—it’s about championing an organisation that reflects inclusion, growth and community,” says Ingham Nissan West Auckland Dealer Principal, Jonathan Martin.

“They genuinely make a difference across West Auckland. We’re proud to support their initiatives and find it extremely rewarding to see the Navara helping power their work both on and off the court.”

The upgraded Navara will be used to transport gear, assist with events and provide reliable transportation across a range of activities during their busy calendar of projects and competitions. With operations that stretch well beyond the netball courts, the vehicle will play a key role in ensuring staff can stay connected to the people they serve.nsition from its traditional hatchback form to a more stylish, coupe-styled SUV, which is expected to cater to a broader audience seeking eco-friendly and versatile vehicles. The design inspiration for the new Leaf borrows heavily from Nissan’s successful Ariya, featuring sleek lines and advanced technology, making it a standout choice for urban commuters.

Murray Gardiner, General Manager of Netball Waitākere, believes the collaboration will enable the centre to extend its reach.

“We’re thrilled to have Ingham Nissan’s backing,” he confirms. “This vehicle will allow us to work more efficiently and continue delivering the kind of open and integrated grassroots-led sport that we do best.”

For Ingham Nissan, the sponsorship is part of a wider commitment to partnering with local organisations that drive positive change, foster belonging and promote the values of engagement, opportunity and support.

As Netball Waitākere continues with another busy season, the Nissan Navara will be right there alongside them—on the sidelines, behind the scenes and out in the community.
